Cappadocia is a region of exceptional natural wonders, in particular characterized by fairy chimneys, a unique historical and cultural heritage. The earliest record dates from the late 6th century BC. Its many areas with unique geological, historic, and cultural features make it an amazing location for spectacular photography. Under the guidance of two professional photographers, this photo tour will take you to breathtaking landscapes, wild horses and horsemen at sunrise, hot air balloons at sunrise, beautiful night skies, underground cities and give you a taste of the Cappadocian hospitality and the tasty local cuisine.

Itinerary of Turkey Photo Tour

Cappadocia 2020 – Wild Horses

Day 1 –  Arrival at Kayseri Erkilet Airport

  • Our Turkey Photo Tour starts at the Kayseri Erkilet Airport (airport code ASR)
  • Accommodation at the hotel
  • A special meal of Turkish Cuisine (In the Hürmetçi Village)
  • Photography of the Yılki Horses in their natural environment at sunset in the Hürmetçi Village (over 300 wild horses)
  • Drive to Kayseri
  • Dinner (Local tastes from the Kayseri Cuisine at Çemen’s Restaurant)
  • Accommodation at the Nov Hotel Kayseri

Day 2:

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Drive to Sultan Sazlığı for sunrise (1-hour drive)
  • Photography of horses, local life and marshes
  • Drive to Kapuzbaşı Waterfalls (1,5 hours drive)
  • Photoshoot at the waterfalls
  • Lunch (delicious fresh fish from the waterfalls)
  • Drive to the other side of Sultan Sazlığı for sunset
  • Sunset photography with Erciyes Mountain and the marshes in the back
  • Return to Kayseri
  • Dinner in Bereket Develi Cıvıklısı (special Kayseri cuisine)
  • Return to hotel

Day 3:

One highlight during our Turkey Photo Tour.

  • Breakfast at the hotel and check out
  • Transition to Cappadocia (1-hour drive)
  • Check-in at the new hotel and have a little rest (Cappadocia Cave Suits)
  • A little trip around the district (Ürgüp, Göreme, and Avanos)
  • Lunch (Aravan Evi Restaurant – Special Pottery Meals of Cappadocia)
  • Continue exploring the district
  • Cappadocia views with camels
  • Dinner (Dayının Yeri Restaurant – Special meat of Turkish cuisine)
  • Return to hotel
  • As an option, star exposure with fairy chimneys of Cappadocia

Day 4:

  • Sunrise shoot: hot air balloons, horses and horseman in different places, Swords Valley and Love Valley
  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • A little rest time
  • Transition to Kırgız Village
  • Lunch with special Kirgiz Cuisine in the tent (Special Cuisine of Central Asia)
  • Kirgiz Village and the local cultural life of people
  • Horses and horseman with cultural clothes in front of the marquees
  • Drive to Cappadocia
  • Special Turkish entertainment (music, dance, mixed Turkish cuisine)
  • Back to accommodation
  • Optional: Cappadocia night sky

Day 5:

  • Landscape and hot air balloons at sunrise
  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • A little rest time
  • Transition to the salt lake (2 hours drive)
  • Lunch in a restaurant in Aksaray (Special Turkish Steak)
  • Horses or other special subjects like ballerina or model on the lake with their reflections at the sunset (3-4 horses)
  • Dinner a la carte, on the way
  • Return to Cappadocia
  • Back to the hotel
  • Optional: Night skies at the best points of Cappadocia

Day 6:

  • Landscape and hot air balloons at sunrise (optional)
  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Continue to explore the district: Ihlara Valley, Kızılçukur Valley, underground cities
  • Lunch (Special Cuisine of Cappadocia, Kebap)
  • Drive to pottery workshops
  • Panoramic photo opportunities at sunset
  • Dinner (Kadıneli Special Turkish Cuisine)
  • Back to the hotel

Day 7:

  • Sunrise photography with landscapes (optional)
  • Breakfast and hotel check out
  • Drive to Cappadocia horse farms, horse portraits
  • Drive to Kayseri
  • Lunch with Kayseri cuisine (Altınsaray Pöç, a special meat recipe)
  • Transition to Hürmetçi Village Yılkı Horses
  • Photo highlight: 300 Yılkı Horses at sunset
  • Departure from Kayseri Airport (after 8 PM)

As a driven artist, professional, entrepreneur, and adventurer, Tim is eager to share his passion, knowledge in photography, and travel through the tours he designed on his own, or through his partnership with professional photographers from around the globe. Tim and his family lived 11 years in Iceland. Now they are based in the Czech Republic.
